Hi All,
I rescanned p114 (corrected typos), p115 and p 132a (scan was
not complete). I also added the summary of lecture 27 (p140a).

Thanks, Harry. This happens as a result of cut and paste. Now
the problems are all different.

For example in the book of Itzykson and Zuber, you can find
a chapter on the quantization of constrained systems. If you
have questions please ask me.

I want to know if we can see how to construct Hamiltonians for the Schrödinger equation, how to introduce constraints to the QM Hamiltonians. Is there a Lagrange Multiplier method for QM Hamiltonians?

Dear All,
As many of you already noticed, in the first problem of
set 3 the $1/\lambda$ in front of the exponent should
be $1/\sqrt(\lambda).

This question is about the historical and experimental relevance of h-bar. Basically, I am wondering how a constant that was originally used to explain blackbody radiation has anything to do with spin. Sakurai shows that there needs to be a constant relating K to p but only says this "turns out to be the same as the constant h-bar." Why? Then when we define the momentum operator, again h-bar seems to pop up without explanation. Why is "the" constant, the same as Planck's constant. Thanks. -Nick L.
